Deciding about the hosting I have few factors in my mind:

EU Company (OVH: OK)
It is always nice to support economy of the place you are living in.

Provide .pt domain (OVH: OK)
I planned to move to Portugal and would like to have an mail with a pt domain.

Provide VPS with Arch (OVH: KO)
There was a possibility to use such an option on the site. The support has some documentation about it, so what can go wrong? In a time that I was trying to use it OVH had such an old Arch version that it was impossible to update it based on its package manager. Of course you can download unknown binaries from the web or build a standalone version…

Remember always to confirm the version of key packages before you buy VPS hosting :-).

Provide sufficient support in different languages (OVH: KO)
How cool it would be to have a possibility to get a support in Polish, Portuguese and English languages? In the marketing everything is possible. In reality: you can have documentation in any language but in each you will find french-only parts. If you buy a service from one National-Company of a global provider you finally get the support only in this very language. Even if the company sells Linux base hosting,the support will avoid helping you if you don't use the client application in the given version for Windows. The problem can be even with a list of provided services in your packet. The smallest problem is that the WebGUI contains an inadequate list of services and configuration options.

When using the hosting I was surprised with the offer of Portuguese hosting providers. All of them have a simpler menu and marketing: but with less price than OVH and possibility to have a chat with the support in English online (tested!).

Standard of the basic services (OVH: KO)
If you can not believe that there can still be a provider without SFTP/SCP in standard - you can look at OVH :-)

OK. Let's assume that for some reason you end up in one of the low quality level hosting providers. Even in this case you can prepare a HTTPS for your visitors in 10 minutes (+reading agreements +DNS propagation). There is still the Russian invasion in Ukraine and the war, so we can start with looking at Yele's list of shame. Cloudflare is listed there, so the next step would be to check up Cloudflare's statemants about the situation: https://blog.cloudflare.com/tag/russia/.

If you feel OK with the presented attitude, you've got the solution. After the registration you will see a clear, beautiful, useful user interface. Great provisioning process is taking care of you.This in an example of user experience that I would like to meet in my service providers :-].

SSL certificate is free… and to be honest there is nothing to be described extra: Cloudflare does the things right!

Decidindo sobre a hospedagem, tenho alguns fatores em mente:

Planejei me mudar para Portugal e quero ter o domínio mail @pt.

Fornecer VPS com Arch (OVH: KO)
No site havia possibilidade de utilizar tal opção. O suporte tem alguma documentação sobre isso, então o que pode dar errado? Em uma época em que eu estava tentando usá-lo, a OVH tinha uma versão tão antiga do Arch que não havia possibilidade de atualizá-la com base em seu gerenciador de pacotes. Claro que você pode baixar binários desconhecidos da web ou construir uma versão autônoma… mas na minha opinião é um serviço ov exteme de baixo nível.

Lembre-se de sempre confirmar a versão dos pacotes de chaves antes de comprar uma hospedagem VPS :-].

Fornecer suporte suficiente em diferentes idiomas (OVH: KO)
Quão legal seria ter a possibilidade de obter suporte em polonês, português e inglês? No marketing tudo é possível. Na realidade: você pode ter documentação em qualquer idioma, mas em cada um você encontrará partes somente em francês. Se você comprar o serviço de uma empresa nacional de um provedor global, poderá encerrar com suporte apenas neste idioma. Mesmo que a empresa venda suporte de hospedagem de base Linux, evitaria ajudá-lo se você não usar o aplicativo cliente em determinada versão para Windows. O problema pode ser mesmo com uma lista de serviços fornecidos em seu pacote. O fato de que na WebGUI você tenha apresentado serviços inadequados é um dos menores.

Após o uso da hospedagem, fiquei chocado depois de pesquisar por provedores de hospedagem em Portugal. Todos eles com menu e marketing mais simples: mas com preço menor que o da OVH e possibilidade de conversar com o suporte em inglês online (testado!).

Se você não pode acreditar que ainda pode ser provedor sem SFTP/SCP no padrão - você pode olhar para OVH ;-].

OK. Vamos supor que, por algum motivo, você acabe em um dos provedores de hospedagem de baixo nível de qualidade. Mesmo nesse caso: você pode preparar HTTPS para seus visitantes em 10 minutos (+leitura de acordos +propagação de DNS). Ainda há guerra russa, então podemos começar olhando a lista de vergonha de Yele. Se você se sente bem com a atitude apresentada: você tem a solução. Após o registro, você verá uma interface de usuário clara, bonita e útil. Ótimo processo de provisionamento cuidando de você. Um exemplo de experiência do usuário que gostaria de conhecer em meus provedores de serviços :-].

O certificado SSL é gratuito… e para ser honesto, não há nada a ser descrito extra: Cloudflare faz as coisas certas!
